The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Barbering Details
The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Barbering focuses on shaving, cutting facial hair, creating patterns in hair as well as cutting and styling men's hair.
The course will be delivered in person at Kleek Academy Darlington or Kleek Academy Colchester and will take 12 months to complete.
There are no pre-requisites for enrolling on the course which is suitable for those with no barbering experience.
The course includes the following units of training:

Providing a Full Shaving Service - Training in traditional and modern shaving techniques, including the use of razors and skincare products, to offer a comprehensive shaving experience.

Creatively cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques - Explore advanced hair styling techniques to create non-conventional looks.

Design and create a range of facial hair shapes - Shape and style different types of facial hair, such as beards and mustaches, using tools and techniques to suit client preferences.

Provide barbering consultation services - Develop effective consultation techniques to understand clients' needs, preferences, and expectations

Fulfil salon reception duties - Gain knowledge of front-desk responsibilities, including booking appointments, handling client inquiries, and managing salon operations.

Perming men’s hair - Techniques and knowledge for chemically curling or waving men's hair, including choosing appropriate products and ensuring safe application.
Assessment is a mixture of practical observations, online tests, assignments and workbooks.

The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Barbering is for people with no barbering experience who are looking to change career or those with Hairdressing qualifications looking to upskill.

On successful completion of the course, you'll receive a fully accredited, internationally recognised qualification through VTCT.
