The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Details

The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy focuses on massage, electricals and management skills.

The course will be delivered in person at Kleek Academy Darlington or Kleek Academy Colchester, this takes 30 weeks to complete.

A minimum of NVQ Level 2 Facial and A&P is required to enrol (this can be organised before starting the course).  A full Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification is desirable but not essential.

The course includes the following units of training:

• Monitor procedures and safely control work operations – Understand H&S (health and safety) in the workplace and carry out practical assessments to show your competence at a supervisory level.
• Planning and implementing promotional activities – How to build your business, the importance of CPD (containing professional development) and following all local guidelines and byelaws when it comes to promotions.
• Swedish Massage – Implement mechanical treatments to suit the client's needs.
• Indian Head Massage – Learn this ancient massage technique and how to balance Chakras and the theory behind the skill.
• Using pre-blended oils – Understand the uses of aromatherapy and how this can enhance your client’s wellbeing.
• Stone therapy massage – Apply the different techniques with Basalt and Marine stones using both thermal and cryotherapy treatments.
• Facial electrical treatments- Learn the theory and safe application of the latest facial technology and give yourself the understanding to progress onto Level 4 treatments such as micro-needling, dermaplaning or IPL (intense pulsed light).

Assessment is a mixture of practical observations, online tests, assignments and workbooks.
